| Originally a school built around 1850. Closing in 1982 the building remained open in a limited capacity until full closure was announced in 1987. However the local community protested and eventually convinced the council that a community centre was needed and after a renovation costing over £200,000, the centre had a grand opening on 15 December 1990. | |||||||||

| Greystone Community Centre also holds various short courses (computer, first-aid, cookery) which are run by Carlisle College, St.Aidans & Trinity Adult Education and St. Johns Ambulance as well as others. |
